VARGAS
Gramophony in ¾
Videoinstallation
2015
Videoinstallation in which a gramophone reproduces, in addition to the sound of a waltz, a video of legs that dance and fade, circulating throughout the space. The waltz as a classical dance represents the structures that permeate the collective unconscious in the way of assuming love as an idealized concept and the way in which we appropriate inherited nuptial customs. The word Waltz, coming from the German verb wälzen, 'to turn, to roll') which is manifested in the way that the projection circulates throughout the space, causing interaction in the viewer making him turn as he seeks and finds the dancing couple. The fog as a mechanism that fades and makes visual clarity impossible, confronts the viewer in his concern to track down those who dance.
